Exhaling Accompanies Wheezing

If you’re experiencing wheezing only when you exhale, and not when you inhale, you need to have some serious concerns. Medical experts believe that it’s very difficult to differentiate between the wheezing caused by asthma, and that caused a similar ailment, known as rhonchi.

Rhonchi is basically a breathing-related ailment, much like bronchitis and COPD, which accompanies chest congestion and rattling while breathing. It is mostly triggered by nasal obstructions, and the development of mucous in the chest.

You can differentiate wheezing and rhonchi by noticing their symptoms, you see, the wheezing caused by asthma is reported as a high-pitched sound that only occurs while exhaling, while the wheezing related to rhonchi is more of a congested sound that occurs while inhaling.

Inhaler No Longer Effective

If you are suffering from asthma, your doctor should have prescribed you an inhaler to improve your breathing abilities and help you alleviate the symptoms of asthma. However, there are several asthma patients who do not always respond well to their inhalers, and in most cases, they fail to notify their doctors of this crucial shortcoming in their treatment.

Most asthma patients also experience symptoms of other respiratory ailments, and if your inhaler is no longer effective in fixing your breathing problems, it indicates that you are suffering with a graver respiratory condition than asthma.
