6. Ovarian cancer screening tests deemed unreliable

The U.S Food and Drug Administration released a shocking statement this September that labelled the screening tests for ovarian cancer highly unreliable and pretty much useless to the point that its use was discouraged. The statement read, “Despite extensive research and published studies, there are currently no screening tests for ovarian cancer that are sensitive enough to reliably screen for ovarian cancer without a high number of inaccurate results”.

This statement is a response to put down all such companies and products that claim to provide an accurate diagnosis for ovarian cancer. Women often receive false results from screening tests, they test negative when they are positive and positive when they are not infected with cancer. The FDA recommends steering clear of such tests, and consulting your doctor to discuss other risk reducing methods, and discussing your family’s medical history of ovarian and other cancers.

7. WEN faces a major law suit by consumers enraged over hair loss

Last year in December, WEN was challenged by over 200 women who filed a lawsuit against the hair-care brand operated by renowned celebrity hairstylist, Chaz Dean. These women accused the brand of abnormal hair fall caused by WEN’s sulftate-free cleansing conditioner, and they also claimed that massaging the conditioner into their scalp instead of their regular shampoo had caused “severe and possibly permanent damage to hair, including significant hair loss to the point of visible bald spots, hair breakage, scalp irritation, and rash.”

This November, the preliminary approval for the WEN lawsuit was signed by a federal judge in LA, and the settlement received by the affected consumers was $26.3 million. Dermatologists believe that certain depilatory ingredients present in cleansing conditioners and hair products can cause severe hair damage, however, if you are regularly using another hair formula you have nothing to worry about.

So, there’s nothing wrong with using a cleansing conditioner, just be sure to get some consumer reviews, and a thorough ingredient check.

  3. People must protest the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Everyone call your congressmen. We need the help to afford medical care. I pay $38.00 a month for my insurance premium of the $248.00 charged by Ins. Co.
