2. EOS Lip Balm faces lawsuit due to skin rashes

Who could have ever imagined that those adorable little colourful lip balms could cause such horrid skin rashes? Earlier in 2016, the widely popular EOS lip balms were accused of causing dryness spells and harsh rashes. It all started when an LA consumer, Rachael Cronin, suffered a harsh rash within hours of using the lip balm and she uploaded some of her pictures on Facebook, sharing the terrible incident with other EOS consumers. Shortly after, countless other EOS consumers stepped forward and shared their own terrible experiences with the same lip balm.

EOS dealt with the lawsuit swiftly and tactfully and it got resolved in a matter of weeks. The company issued a statement to justify its stand, and it stated, “Our products are safe — and this settlement confirms that”.

Now, if this episode has scared you off lip balms, you also need to consider that allergies, dry weather conditions, certain systemic illnesses, excessively licking your lips, abnormal drooling and irritation can also cause lip rashes.

3. Coconut Oil is not as healthy as we think.

For centuries, coconut oil has been regarded as a remarkable beauty and health product that is healthy for the heart, and an excellent cooking and baking ingredient. However, these notions of healthy fat associated with coconut oil are shattering, particularly since Nutrition Review has published its ground-breaking research about the properties of coconut oil. The research analysed the findings of around 21 studies, and concluded that there is a serious lack of evidence to state that coconut oil, which contains 92% of saturated fat, can actually help regulate your cholesterol levels or lower your risk of contracting heart disease.

This study has turned the benefits of coconut oil into a controversial myth because of the lack of evidence to cement coconut oil as a healthy fat. However, when cooked in moderation, it can do no harm but it’s always better to make a healthier choice, for instance olive oil or canola oil. But this discovery shouldn’t stop you from enjoying its beauty benefits, so feel free to drench your hair and skin with the goodness of coconut oil.

  3. People must protest the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Everyone call your congressmen. We need the help to afford medical care. I pay $38.00 a month for my insurance premium of the $248.00 charged by Ins. Co.
