When abnormal growth of cells begins in breast than breast cancer starts. Tumour formed by these cells can be seen through x-rays. If the tumour grows in other parts or in surroundings of breast then it becomes malignant. Breast cancer starts in different part of breast.
Breast cancer is also one of the most common cancers. Fewer people are dying from this cancer. The risk of breast cancer is more in women than man.
1. Thickness of breast:
An important thing to do is to find out how dense is your breast. In dense breath, chances of developing breast cancer are 6 times more. But there is no standardization to measure breast density.
If the density of a breast is low, one needs proper regular checkups. If the density of breast is high than one cannot decrease it by its own will. One can take precautionary measure by asking your doctor for MRI, Ultrasounds or by shifting from traditional mammography to digital.
2. Family cancer history:
Breast cancers as well as 5 to 10 percent of all other cancers are hereditary. They are transformed from one generation to another generation by a variety of mutated genes.
Both mother’s and father’s family counts equally. If your family has cancer history one should consult genetics experts for best advices.
