4. Chronic Fatigue

Swelling and pain are common occurrences in arthritis but another symptom one should be on the lookout for is chronic fatigue. Rheumatoid arthritis is unlike any other type of arthritis and it is is an auto-immune disease.

The body’s immune system attacks the joints which results in inflammation which can either be concentrated in the joints or spread in the body. The body copes hard to deal with the inflammation and as a result fatigue becomes a side effect.

5. Decreased Appetite and Fever

Rheumatoid arthritis can also cause a decrease in appetite and fever in the inflicted individuals. People dealing with rheumatoid arthritis can experience many ups and downs with the joints being fine one day and extremely painful some other day.

These periodic episodes are called flare ups and are very unpredictable.
