6. Water

The popular rule is to consume at least 8 tall glasses of water every day in order to stay hydrated and healthy, for the importance of sufficient water supply simply cannot be stressed enough. It is undoubtedly the cheapest, easiest and healthiest trick to stay vitalized and energetic, along with keeping your blood pressure levels in control.

Research reveals that chronic dehydration can cause severe disturbances, such as constricting the blood vessels, which causes the body to save water by reducing water loss that occurs through urination, respiration and sweating.

When the blood vessels become constricted, the heart has to work harder, which naturally causes the blood pressure levels to ignite.

Instead of the eight-glasses rule, it is ideal to create a more personalised rule. Experts believe that the best way is to divide your body weight by two, and convert that figure into ounces to find the exact amount of water your body needs every day.

For instance, if you weigh 150 pounds, you must consume at least 75 ounces of water a day.
