5 Surprising Symptoms of Endometriosis

For many women, their monthly menstruation is accompanied by a wide variety of difficulties. This can include simple premenstrual mood swings to more severe issues of cramps, abdominal pain and even dizziness. For women dealing with endometriosis, their monthly cycle is even more of a roller coaster ride. Endometriosis is when the endometrium, which is the layer of cells which acts as the covering of the uterus or womb, is found outside the uterus in other areas of the body.

These areas can include the stomach cavity, the ovaries or even the bladder. The endometrial lining breaks down during the monthly cycle and can get entrapped in the body leading to abrasions and aches.

Following are 5 symptoms which can be caused by this condition:

1. Appendicitis Pain

We all know the symptoms of appendicitis: excruciating pain in the lower abdomen as well as swelling but for some women this pain may as well be caused by endometriosis.

The appendix area is a key area for trapped endometrial cells. This problem is called as catamenial appendicitis and is different from the normal appendicitis because the level of white blood cells in the body don’t increase and also patients don’t suffer from high temperature.
