According to a research Kiwifruit also has its impact in promoting sound sleep. The research included a study where people consumed a kiwifruit for four consecutive weeks one hour before going to bed. The results showed that all the participants eating the kiwifruit, apart from taking less time to fall asleep, also enjoyed a sound sleep and their sleep time also got extended.
This is also because of the presence of the sleep-promoting compounds in the kiwifruit.
4. Chamomile Tea
People have been traditionally using this chamomile herb to fight insomnia. According to a research, its sleep-inducing property is due the presence of a flavonoid compound, apigenin. This compound activates the receptor of GABA A, which is a process for sleep induction.
This evidence is still not enough to prove its use for a sound sleep, yet a warm cup of chamomile tea before bed can certainly help in preparing you for sleep mentally.
Walnuts also have the compounds that help in promoting sleep, such as serotonin, melatonin and magnesium. A 100 gram serving of walnuts before bedtime is enough for you to help yourself sleep as it can also have other useful nutrients.
Despite having high quantities of melatonin, scientific research hasn’t that much of evidence which can prove walnuts as a diet that promotes sleep.
